These terms are between you and CourseworkHQ, and bind nobody else. Accepting them does not commit your school to anything. The agreement with a school — including the Data Processing Agreement that has to be in place before any student account can exist — is the separate School Terms, accepted by someone the school has authorised.
These terms govern your use of CourseworkHQ. By creating an account or using the service, you agree to them. If you're a student under 18, you're using CourseworkHQ because your school has directed you to as part of your coursework — your school's own rules also apply.
CourseworkHQ is provided by COURSEWORK HQ LIMITED (“we,” “us”), a private company limited by shares registered in Ireland under company number 825909, with its registered office at 9 Aisling Drive, Clareview, Limerick, V94 P9YK. You can reach us at admin@courseworkhq.ie.
CourseworkHQ is a tool that helps teachers set up, run, and give feedback on Leaving Cert Additional Assessment Component (AAC) coursework — things like the Business Alive Investigative Study. It provides rubrics, a reusable comment bank, and a submission-and-feedback workflow. It is a tool for teachers to use with their own professional judgement; it is not a substitute for that judgement.
Some rubrics, comment-bank entries, and assignment templates available in CourseworkHQ (in particular the "template" library, distinct from anything a teacher writes themselves) were produced with the assistance of AI tools, then reviewed and edited by a human before publishing.
These materials are provided as guidelines and a starting point, not as an authoritative or exclusive interpretation of any State Examinations Commission (SEC) or NCCA assessment guidance. They do not represent the only correct way to teach, assess, or give feedback on an AAC, and using them does not guarantee any particular grade, outcome, or level of SEC compliance. Official SEC and NCCA guidance always takes precedence, and it is each teacher's responsibility to exercise their own professional judgement about what feedback and marking is appropriate for their own students, in line with their school's policies and the relevant SEC/NCCA guidelines for that subject and year.
We review template content against publicly available guidance where we can, and correct it when we find gaps — but CourseworkHQ, its content, and its creator make no warranty that any template, rubric, or comment is complete, current, or free of error, and accept no liability for outcomes arising from a teacher's use of them. Teachers remain free to edit, ignore, or replace any template content with their own.
A teacher account is free and needs no school involvement. It gives you the whole product to work in — projects, rubrics, comment banks, marking templates, and demo students you can practice marking against — with one limit: no real student can be enrolled until your school has applied for a trial and accepted the School Terms. Everything you build in the meantime is yours and carries over when they do.
A free account is for evaluation with invented data. Please do not enter a real student's name, work, or anything else about an identifiable child into one — the demo students exist so that you do not have to. If real student data is entered anyway, we act as your school's processor in respect of it on the terms of the Data Processing Agreement from that moment, and we may remove it.
You agree not to:
Your content stays yours. Teachers retain ownership of the rubrics, comments, and assignment content they personally write, and students retain ownership of the coursework they submit. By using CourseworkHQ, you grant us the limited right to store, process, and display that content solely as needed to provide the service to you and the people you share a class with.
The platform stays ours. The CourseworkHQ software, design, admin-template library (rubrics, comment bank entries, and project templates marked as shared templates rather than personal content), and branding are owned by Sarah Woods / CourseworkHQ and are not licensed for reuse, resale, or redistribution outside the service.
You do not pay for CourseworkHQ, and neither do students. A teacher account is free, and student accounts are free on every plan. There is no individual subscription to buy and we will never ask you for a card.
CourseworkHQ is licensed to schools. What a school pays, what a licence covers and how the licence year works are set out in the School Terms, and the pricing page says how to get a quotation for your school.
A student is never locked out of their own coursework because a licence has lapsed or an invoice is unpaid. That is a rule the software enforces, not only a promise here.
We aim to keep CourseworkHQ available and reliable, but we don't guarantee uninterrupted access — the service may be unavailable for maintenance, updates, or reasons outside our control. We may change or discontinue features; where a change materially affects how you use the service, we'll try to give reasonable notice.
CourseworkHQ is provided "as is." To the fullest extent permitted by Irish law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses arising from your use of the service, or for outcomes related to SEC submissions, grades, or compliance decisions made using content or feedback recorded in CourseworkHQ — those decisions and their consequences remain the responsibility of the teacher and school using their own professional judgement. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded (for example, liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or fraud).
You can stop using CourseworkHQ and ask us to delete your account at any time. Where your school is the data controller (see the Privacy Policy), account and data deletion is generally handled through your school unless they've authorised us to act on individual requests directly.
These terms are governed by the laws of Ireland, and any dispute will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Irish courts.
We may update these terms from time to time; the "last updated" date above will reflect the latest version. Continuing to use CourseworkHQ after a change means you accept the updated terms.
